In Irish mythology, hares are seen as sacred creatures with connections to the Otherworld. They are associated with the realm of the fairies and are the heralds of spring.
The hare was seen as a symbol of fertility and prosperity and was often depicted in Celtic art and mythology.
Stories were often told of their ability to shapeshift into human form.
